Ezra Collective are bringing their explosive, genre-smashing live show to The Princess Theatre as part of Open Season.
Fusing Afro-Cuban jazz, salsa, Afrobeat, reggae, soul, and hip-hop with raw energy and razor-sharp musicianship, the Mercury Prize- and BRIT Award-winning five-piece have built a reputation for unrelenting, high-impact performances. Brothers Femi and TJ Koleoso, Ife Ogunjobi, James Mollison, and Joe Armon-Jones channel the grit and chaos of London’s underground jazz scene, delivering sets that hit with the force of a punk show.
Since forming in 2012, Ezra Collective have carved their own path, pushing jazz into uncharted territory with You Can’t Steal My Joy (2019) and the Mercury Prize-winning Where I’m Meant To Be (2022). Fresh off a massive BRIT Award win for Group of the Year and a blistering performance with Jorja Smith, they return to Australia, ready to tear the roof off The Princess with more gusto than Alfred.
