From underground innovators to one of the UK’s most adventurous live acts, Mount Kimbie have spent over a decade pushing the boundaries of electronic music. Now a dynamic four-piece, they bring their expansive new sound to The Princess Theatre for a special Open Season performance—one of their first Australian shows in seven years.

Emerging from London’s post-dubstep scene in the late 2000s, Kai Campos and Dominic Maker made waves with Crooks & Lovers (2010), a record that helped define a generation of forward-thinking electronic music. They evolved with Cold Spring Fault Less Youth (2013) and Love What Survives (2017), embracing post-punk, Krautrock, and collaborations with King Krule, Mica Levi, and James Blake. Now a fully expanded ensemble, Mount Kimbie’s latest album, The Sunset Violent, sees them push even further—melding shoegaze, driving indie rock, and shimmering electronica into their most acclaimed work yet.

Renowned for their immersive, unpredictable live shows, Mount Kimbie have performed on the world’s biggest stages, from sold-out venues to festival main stages. This is a rare chance to witness their sonic evolution up close—don’t miss it.

Open Season is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland’s QASP and Strategic Partnership’s fund.
